Leadership Development & Regional Involvement
Leadership development and regional involvement both play a large role in the foundation of RHA DPC. Each year, select delegates chosen from RHA's general council are presented with the opportunity to travel to another university for leadership conferences at the state, regional, and national levels. At these conferences, delegates have the freedom to attend programming about leadership and advocacy initiatives while networking with delegates from other colleges!
National Organizations
Arizona State University RHA Downtown is an affiliated member of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). Along with schools throughout Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, we form the Intermountain Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (IACURH). The best way to get involved on a regional or national level is to attend the conferences below.
Why Attend Conferences?
When attending an IACURH or NACURH conference ASU RHA delegates will have the opportunity to meet students from college and university campuses all across the world. At IACURH and NACURH conferences, residents will be able to participate in a variety of programs and events put on by other students. Attending conferences is an exciting and eye-opening way to develop your leadership skills, network with others school representatives and learn more about on campus residential housing internationally.
How to Attend
Each year, residents on campus have the opportunity to represent RHA at both IACURH and NACURH. Conferences are a great opportunity to gain leadership skills, network, and learn more about the region and nation. Applications to these conferences will be communicated through General Council, as well as available here. For more information about conferences please contact the NACURH Communications Coordinator (NCC), Siena Dranias, at sdranias@asu.edu!
Upcoming Conference
This upcoming February, RHA DPC will be attending the Regional Business Conference (RBC) hosted at Utah State University. At this conference, RHA executive board members from universities and colleges in the intermountain region will receive the opportunity to unite and collaborate to share programs, ideas, and resources.
Within the past few years, RHA DPC has sent delegates to the 2023 IACURH Regional Leadership Conference hosted at the University of Colorado and ASU's Fall Leadership Camp 2023 at Camp Wamatochick in Prescott.
